How does the bike lock work?

Follow these instructions to open the lock. Do not fiddle with inner workings of the lock as it can change the lock code.

What do I do with the lock whilst I'm riding?

Close the lock and put it in the basket. Use it when you need to leave the bike for a short period of time.

Riding with the lock open can sometimes cause the lock code to change.

How tall must I be?

The bike seat height is adjustable, and bikes work well for anybody from 152cm to 198cm in height.

How fit do I need to be?

Nextbikes have 3 gears, the first of which is very easy and will allow you to ride up most hills. If you are fit enough to walk with ease you will be fit enough to ride the Nextbikes.

Will I get hot and sweaty when I ride?

The 3 gears and the gentle breeze as you ride will keep you cool. The basket is also a great place to put your bag or backpack, both of which will make you hot if you wear them.

Is it safe to ride a bike?

The eyecatching advertising boards and the upright sitting position means that you will see other road users and they will see you. City councils are also doing lots of great work building cycleways, running bike awareness advertising campaigns and promoting share with care.
