Public bikes are an integral part of the public transport network in over 65 international cities. In Auckland we have  upto 170 bikes available for you to get around on. The bikes are locked and released by making a call from a phone. They are located at rental stations at busy public sites and backpacker hostels in the major centers. You can take the bikes for a two minute trip to a nearby shop or  two weeks, you decide.

Newmarket Viaduct, SH1 closure, September 4-5th will cause significant disruption throughout central Auckland, as up to 60,000 vehicles are re-routed through local roads. NZTA advise all motorists to find another means of transport.

Nextbike has 101 bicycles on racks around central Auckland, which will make transport through the gridlocked streets much easier. The first 101 people to register a phone number and credit card here, will automatically get 1 free day of riding so that you can enjoy your weekend. Offer valid for the first 101 registrations completed by 12th September. The 1 free day of riding is valid for 31 days. Happy riding.

Once you register a phone number and a credit card you can locate a bike, give us a call from your phone on 09 909 9090, and go for a ride. Give us another call when you return the bike. To learn more about the process read this.

You get one free ride, upto a maximum of 30 minutes, in a 24 hour period so you can use the bikes to get to work, meetings, lectures or visit a friend in Auckland, and it's free

If you'd like to advertise on these bikes or you have a suggestion for an ideal place to put them please contact us and we can talk it through.
