Public bikes are an integral part of the public transport network in over 65 international cities. In Auckland we have made upto 170 bikes available for you to get around on. The bikes are locked and released by making a call from a phone. They are located at rental stations at busy public sites and backpacker hostels in the major centers. You can take the bikes for a two minute trip to a nearby shop or for two weeks, you decide.
Once you register a phone number and a credit card you can locate a bike, give us a call from your phone on 09 909 9090, and go for a ride. Give us another call when you return the bike. To learn more about the process read this.
Nextbike operates a registration scheme for regular riders - "Registered Riders". As a Registered Riders you are entitled to one free 30 minute ride per 24 hour period - "Free Period" , for so long as you are registered. When your Registered Rider status expires you can either renew as a Registered Rider or become a "Casual Rider". Casual Riders can still ride, but are not entitled to the Free Period.
If you'd like to advertise on these bikes or you have a suggestion for an ideal place to put them please contact us and we can talk it through.
